Project: bbrown Exhibition Stand 2016

The 2016 bbrown Display Materials exhibition stand featured at the same 3 London-based trade shows as in the previous year, namely The Event Production Show, The Retail Design Expo and The VM & Display show, with a similar brief from bbrown. Again a design with bold, bright colours, showcasing as many of their products as possible was requested, also something very different visually, based on circles. From the starting point of the swatches in the catalogue, I began by grouping product ranges into radial segments on foamed disks of varying sizes. Several perforated discs were backlit and motorised to show the effects of light and motion on transparent and opaque products. I felt that it was also important to do something creative with a product too, and decided to use the amazingly versatile Rowlux to make spinning windmills. The explosion of colours were tightened further with the almost psychedelic look of the red acrylic furniture. This stand remains one of my favourites and it was very satisfying to spend weeks immersed in so many amazing textures and colours.
